Mountain Lions, and Jaguar
Deer and Antelope Birds Birds of pray Lions and Jaguar

This was taken Sycamore Canyon near Mount Lemmon in Tucson, Arizona. He was standing on the road when I drove around the corner. I was not prepaired... by the time I stopped the car, turned on my camera he had jumped up a cliff with ease then hid behind the tree to see what I was doing. Im glad he stopped for that moment to let me shoot him. I then thought it would be best to get back in my truck since they do travel in pairs.

This photo was submitted to Arizona Game and Fish in a attempt to verify if was a Jaguar or Mountain Lion. The conclusion was (3) votes for Mountain Lion (3) votes for Jaguar and (1) undecided. The head is shaped more like a Jaguar the white around the muzzle could be either. The molting could be a Mountain Lion or could be the colors of a Jaguar. The best part of this picture is I never saw the cat when I took the shot I was trying out a new zoom lens on a cave at 75 yards. When I got home and enlarged it I saw the cat. I have the original shot below not enlarged so you can see my view. This photo was taken in Southern Arizona and due to poaching these animals I can't disclose the location. If you have legitimate reason for wanting to know where this was please send me a e-mail and explain your interest and I will consider it. steve@arivacawildlife.com
This is the original shot of the cave in the previous photo. The cat is in the horizontal area on the top right quadrant above.
